2 hour task:
Ask some people who are over 40 about their perceptions of how the representation of women in the media has changed over their lifetime and record this information.
1 week task:
Read the key text "Decoding Advertising" by Judith Williamson, and then watch advertisments and break down and analyse them in the way that book does.

2 hour task:
Ask the manager of your local shop how much they earn from pornography magazines and lads mags as a percentage of their overall magazine takings. Has it changed over the past 5 years?
Donations
So many good causes rely on donations in order to provide services and support to people in need. Their funding is often precarious and they are unable to secure income for more than two or three years at a time.

In this financial climate charities and not for profit organisations are struggling to make enough money to function. Even though many people are strapped for cash, it is more important than ever to donate if you are able.

Not all donations have to be monitary. Several charitable groups are appealing for donations of goods and services. If you are money poor but time rich you may consider volunteering, which is a hugely valuable way of giving to a good cause.  In particular many groups would welcome offers to help with fundraising. They may have plans for fundraising events and activities in place which you could help make even more successful. JustGiving is a great resource for fundraising ideas and support.

If you would like your own appeal to be promoted by BFN please emailinfo@bristolfeministnetwork.com
